TRUBALANCE JOINS NICOR ADVANCED ENERGY FAMILY OF ENERGY PLANS
NAPERVILLE, Illinois (9/21/2007) - Nicor Advanced Energy has introduced TruBalance, a convenient and budget-friendly plan that helps customers manage their natural gas bills. Best known for the popular Lock 12 program, Nicor Advanced Energy is an innovator in developing energy billing choices for residential and small commercial customers.

Customers who want the flexibility of a variable price plan and the price protection of a fixed price plan will find both in TruBalance. The energy plan bills half of the customer's usage at a fixed price; the other half is billed at a market-driven variable price. By blending fixed and variable prices into a single plan, you're not putting all your eggs in one basket.
TruBalance joins a variety of energy billing plan options offered by Nicor Advanced Energy, including PriceGuard, Flex Plan and Lock 12.
Customers who want security in their natural gas prices this winter will enjoy PriceGuard, offering protection from the ups and downs of market prices. Gas usage is billed at a fixed price so that customers pay the same per-therm price every month, no matter how many therms they use.
For a plan that's more similar to traditional utility service, Nicor Advanced Energy offers Flex Plan. With its variable rate billing, Flex Plan follows the daily natural gas price per therm as it moves up and down with prevailing market conditions. When market conditions are more favorable, customers may switch from Flex Plan to one of Nicor Advanced Energy's other price protection plans with a simple phone call.
Customers can continue to enjoy Lock 12, the innovative plan that offers the ultimate protection by locking in their natural gas bill amount for 12 months, and enjoy peace of mind. The Lock 12 bill is guaranteed not to change for one year, due to gas price volatility or extreme weather conditions, protecting customers from fluctuating monthly gas prices and unwelcome surprises on gas bills.
