NICOR ADVANCED ENERGY MAKES LIFE EASIER FOR MEN LIVING IN CLEARBROOK GROUP HOME

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Illinois (5/21/2007) - Life is good for the six Clearbrook clients who reside at the Clearbrook group home on Fremont Street in Rolling Meadows. They are looking forward to living in comfort – a luxury afforded to them through the Lock 12 grant donation of $2,000 that will cover 12 months of natural gas bills for this home, thanks to the community-minded Nicor Advanced Energy (NAE). This is the second year that NAE's grant will help to bridge the gap between lagging government funding and the rising cost of living, as well as create a hospitable environment for the men with developmental disabilities residing at Fremont.

"Our clients living at Fremont are not unlike other residents in the area," explained Carl M. La Mell, Clearbrook President. "They thrive in environments where they feel secure and relaxed. We are able to enhance this for them partially through the aid of donations, such as this grant from Nicor Advanced Energy."

The NAE Lock 12 grant lets Clearbrook worry less about funding and spend more time on what really makes a difference: improving the quality of life for the men at the group home.

Rena Stoegbauer, Clearbrook's Qualified Mental Retardation Professional (QMRP), who oversees the Fremont group home, added, "The men prosper with a routine schedule. They enjoy helping the staff with the meal preparation, doing their own laundry, and watching sports on TV."

Nicor Advanced Energy is happy to play a significant role by offering the men at Clearbrook's group home the type of assistance that will help them reach their fullest potential and maintain a more independent lifestyle.

"It's an honor to be able to help these men and to offer them the kind of support that ensures they continue to have a place to call their own," concluded Bob Bean, Director of Marketing for Nicor Advanced Energy. "Lock 12 offers the kind of added protection and peace of mind that Clearbrook's clients need in these times of unpredictable gas prices."
