How long does the Nicor Solutions Fixed Bill agreement last? |

The program is a one-year agreement, covering 12 consecutive months from the date that your last utility bill has been issued. Near the end of your 12-month term, we will send you written notice of your new Fixed Bill amount and of any changes to the terms and conditions. We will renew your enrollment automatically at that new amount and terms unless you notify us within thirty days of the postmark date of your renewal notice.
The terms of your cancellation for a renewal are the same as for your new agreement.

What happens if my natural gas usage changes? |

The Nicor Solutions Fixed Bill program is designed to protect you from changes in gas prices and usage due to the weather. Using more or less gas because of weather fluctuations is covered under the Nicor Solutions Fixed Bill program. However, if you use an unusually high amount of natural gas due to non-weather related reasons such as adding a room, or a heated swimming pool, Nicor Solutions reserves the right to reassess your Fixed Bill payment amount or program eligibility.
If you use less gas then you had in the past due to home improvements or other efforts you've taken to reduce gas usage, that more efficient use of natural gas will be beneficial to you when we determine your Nicor Solutions Fixed Bill amount for next year.

No. Since you could be moving into a larger or smaller home that uses more or less gas than your previous home, a new Nicor Solutions Fixed Bill amount will be quoted to you, if you are eligible.

Your Nicor Solutions Fixed Bill amount, which covers all natural gas-related costs including monthly customer charges, gas supply costs, program administration fees, and taxes, will not change. If you decide to enroll in other Nicor Services programs such as Gas Line ComfortGuard or you are subjected to late payment charges, your actual payment amount will be different than your Nicor Solutions Fixed Bill amount.

What happens if I pay more or less than my Nicor Solutions Fixed Bill amount? |

The amount you overpay will be considered a credit, which can be applied towards your next month's Nicor Solutions Fixed Bill amount if you so desire. The credit balance will earn interest while the amount is drawn down over the course year.
Underpaying will result in a past-due balance and that will appear on your next month's bill. You will still be responsible for your past-due balance and any potential late-pay fees (1.5% of your outstanding monthly balance).
Nicor Solutions reserves the right to terminate you from the Fixed Bill program due to nonpayment. You will still be responsible for the time you were on the program, any past-due balance, cancellation fees and late-pay fees.

Will I save money on the Nicor Solutions Fixed Bill program versus what I would have otherwise paid Nicor Gas? |

You may or may not save money on this program. It is designed to protect you from fluctuating gas prices and unpredictable weather. Therefore, even if gas prices go up during the next 12 months or we have colder than normal weather, your monthly payment will not change.
Conversely, if the winter weather is warmer than normal and/or gas prices go down, your payment will not change. While no one can predict the future, our customers will always have the peace of mind and protection of knowing their monthly amounts will not change during the year, no matter what conditions prevail.

Are there any additional fees to enroll in either program? |

No. Your Nicor Solutions Fixed Bill quote includes all natural gas-related costs, program administration fees, and taxes. There will be no extra charges added to your amount after you have enrolled.

Can I cancel my Nicor Solutions Fixed Bill agreement prior to the end of my 12-month term? |

Agreements vary based on such factors as time of enrollment or inclusion of special premium offers. If your agreement contains a cancellation fee, please note that there is no cancellation fee if you cancel your agreement within 10 business days of the issue date of your first company bill. If you terminate this agreement or otherwise cause the termination of this agreement after the 10-business-day period, a termination fee of $50 will apply. You will be responsible for the period of time you are on the plan. Be sure you understand your cancellation terms before you enroll.

What is rescission and how is it different from cancellation? |

The rescission of a contract returns the parties to the positions they would have occupied if the contract had not been made. If you decide to rescind your contract, you will not receive service from Nicor Solutions. You have 10 days from the postmark date of the welcome letter to request rescission of your contract with Nicor Solutions. Once a contract is rescinded, you will remain with the energy supplier you had contracted with prior to enrolling in the Nicor Solutions contract. To rescind your contract, call 866-369-0911.
